About Allulose
Allulose is a low calorie sweetener that acts as an alternative to traditional table sugar. Figs, raisins and maple syrup contain allulose in small amounts and the allulose used in Munk Pack products is sourced from non-bioengineered corn. Allulose contains 0.4 calories per gram, which is significantly less than the 4 calories per gram of sugar. It is 70% as sweet as sugar, but does not get metabolized into the glucose in the way that sugar does, which means it has little to no impact on blood glucose or insulin levels.
Not being metabolized by the body also makes allulose gentler on the digestive system than many other alternative sweeteners. With 90% fewer calories than sugar, this (almost) calorie-free alternative is a pretty sweet deal.
